2021: Climbing The Rut (part 2)
Now comes the biggest chunk of making your way out…the plan. To give you an example, I took some time in the post between Xmas and New Year to work on a plan for 2021. I sat down and planned a few factors of what I want to happen. The problem is at this point you can make things work brilliantly or fall flat on your face and get stuck again. So I propose something different.
Instead of looking at a big plan of getting out of the rut overall, you plot in small micro chunks. Like for example, if you’re looking to plan over three months divide it up into twelve weeks or even more subdivisions if that helps your process. Then at the end of each week, see how far you’ve come.
This gives you a lot more fine control over the goal in the macro rather than worrying about making big adjustments way quicker. So it gives you time to see what’s happening on a granular level, which ultimately enables you to respond and not react and make less mistakes. Nothing is guaranteed to be mistake free, but if you can see the problem in time you can steer accordingly.
Last part, put the plan into action and put the work in. Put it to the test. The good thing is you can adjust it rather than being paralysed into analysis. Then work it over and over…until *click* it works and you’re no longer in the rut.
Where do you go from here? Now that’s for next time.
Until then, #setyourselfonfire and keep going.
