2021: Leaving The Rut (Part 3)

So, you’ve made your way out and back on firm ground. You can look down at the ruts you’ve faced before and take a breath while you’re on the top of the hill. However, as much as it feels good to be here the journey isn’t over. Its only the beginning of a cycle which all creative people go through.

In fact, this is what I call a ‘creation loop’ where once you’re committed in the effort towards something new, you will lose yourself in the woods of your imagination. You will slip up and the rut will beckon you in. So instead of being fearful of the rut, you must grow used to it and overcome it.

So how do you not only leave the rut, but keep moving through several ruts?

Not only you take the skill from the previous chapter of this blog series, you need to keep this in mind.

Adjust

With each rut you encounter, things will not be exactly the same as last time. So, look around you and adjust your plan accordingly.

Courage

Keep it with you and if things don’t work, go back to the above and keep going.

Expand

Once you escape the rut, always use the time to expand your skill set. Sure the rut will do that automatically, but keeping an open mind and a curious disposition will always give you an edge.

In time, this will be your ACE in the hole.

On that note, thank you for following and reading this series. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did writing it.

Until next time, #setyourselfonfire.
