History Has Its Eyes On You

I could go on and on about 2020 being an awful year. Dozens of words have probably been written already filling minds with complaint, pain, sorrow and anger and frustration. However, I see no reason to add to the conversation because things have become noisy once again. All I know is this year has become malleable and ripe for serious change.

With everything as far as we can see collapsing, the world as far as we knew took a near half a year breather from working as is…I can’t step outside with the same knowledge as I did before. I can’t just slip into the same skin as I used to be. I have to move on and grow into something better.

I remember actually reading an article on Medium about being detached from the goings on in the world and being self reliant instead of getting caught up in the chaos. This I only partially agree with. I believe when moments like this year, you have to position yourself towards justice and doing the right thing. So that means getting your hands dirty and getting into some ‘good trouble’ as the late John Lewis said.

I can do many things from my workstation. I can continue to inspire with words, tell stories that reach deep into your conscious and unconscious mind. I can write songs, maybe inspirational songs that get known by a few people. However, I still need to get into the people to show them what I’m all about.

When I finished watching Hamilton the other day…the strongest thing I came away is ‘who is going to tell your story?’ I could just be another person who followed everyone else or just maybe…it can be extraordinary and open a few eyes in the process. I’m not even talking about fame in this 21st century expendable fashion, but the type that lives forever and is saturated with the right kind of love and justice that opens people up to greatness.

So with that thought, I’ll bid you adieu reader.

Until next time, may your fire burn bright, may the earth remain rich and always #embraceinfinity
