Lockdown Blues
Yep, I was initially frustrated and angry about a second lockdown. Mostly because I was just about starting to feel relatively better and also not being able to spend time with my partner. Then as always, I woke up this morning, emptied my mind through Morning Pages and realised once again it’s an opportunity to look deep into myself and lean into my introvert side.
A lot of people think I’m an extroverted person, but I’m not. I just for this year, I have a special ‘extrovert’ battery farm on standby so when I need to speak, perform or do something front facing I consume its contents and then get to whatever I need to do! (also it tastes like chocolate with a hint of honey)
Also I notice a lot of people are feeling overwhelmed about it. Overwhelmed by so many different things that no one thought about, until you had to sit down and absorb the information coming your way.
I ask you prepare yourselves and reflect on all that’s happened in this year. As a transformative coach, I see this year as a crucial year not in a way to predict anything but how we see each other. If we look to the media, the lens is often clouded towards tribalism and trouble. However, if we look to each other we can people struggling and needing help.
Also, take note of the season and look to pace yourself accordingly. Its very easy in a capitalist world to continue to get tense, rush and get very anxious in the run up to Christmas. Focus on what you have, its very easy to get lost in consuming just because. I’m looking to get deeper and grow stronger because everything currently is unpredictable, but I can control myself and how I respond.
