Starting Over?
A lot of us are wanting to start over after last year. I won’t mention the ‘C’ word but it did cause a lot of upheaval, but sometimes that is a good thing. Coming into 2021 I sat down and decided on a theme, this year it’s change because I for once see it as the only constant I can rely on. After seeing goal posts being moved and shifted, I can only step into the year with all the skill of playing a game of Demon Souls.
In some ways, its dangerous to forget what happened last year. I saw many voices protest their rights be it Black Lives Matter or trans rights. I may not be able to step outside just yet, but I know that fire in my belly hasn’t left me.
I look at the outside world now with a more judgemental eye. Sure last year we had a break in the middle of the year when numbers subsided in the UK, but it never truly returned to a truly social world again. Everybody had no idea what on earth was going on.
Now with two types of vaccine being rolled out, there’s a glimmer of light for the rest of the year. However, looking at it with my own video game perspective, I see it as we’ve barely got there yet. There’s still a mountain worth of stuff to learn and grow into.
As a coach I’m bringing out new stuff, even daring to experiment from my laptop instead of reading the news. I’m even (mock horror) working on ideas for an email series (but I want to call it something better than a newsletter)
Either way, I’m determined to make this year a better one…so maybe starting over isn’t the best question.
