The Leap

You work hard, slowly build up a practice. You take baby steps and keep your head down, grinding away and focus on the ‘brick’ in front of you. Laying it as straight and as even as you possibly can. After hyper focusing on each day at a time, you finally step back and realise what you’ve created is way more than you could’ve imagined. Its not something massive, but its something you’re happy with and you’re proud of how far things have progressed.

Now you’re nearly a year in and you see something bigger on the horizon. You’re nervous and excited. Its something to get your teeth into, but there’s a lot more risk compared to before. You look at all the hard work, you feel confident in what you did, its in your memory and it feels warm and comforting. However you can’t stay where you were, you’ve got to take this next leap rather than a step.

So you take the leap. Air starts rushing around your head and fear gives way to exhilaration as you move towards what was a dot, to an island, to trees, sand and other objects. Then you land, with a few bumps but you land. You see another place to explore, another land to get familiar with but more importantly…new things to build.

That little bit of creative writing is not just for you, its for me. Often taking the leap is the hardest bit while what’s on the other side of it…that’s part of the fun.

Until next time, #embraceinfinity
